Hiring take-home
See how a candidate reviews code before the interview.
Send a candidate a link to three pull requests in your stack. They review them the way they would at work, and you see what they caught, what they approved, and what they wrote.
What the candidate does
The candidate opens the link, sees who sent it and what will be shared, and agrees before any review is saved. No account needed. They review three PRs from the DiffDojo library in your stack; not every PR has a bug. They comment on the lines they would flag, then approve or request changes. After each PR they see the outcome and the answer.
What you see
For each candidate: how many planted bugs they caught, how many verdicts were right, whether they approved a PR that had no bug, comments that claimed a bug that is not there, minutes spent on each PR, and their inline comments. Stacks: Python, React, Node and Angular.
Privacy
Each candidate link is valid for 14 days. A candidate's reviews are deleted 90 days after they finish, or 90 days after an unfinished link expired. Take-home reviews never appear on a public profile or in team dashboards.
Price
Free for now: up to 5 take-homes per account, each with as many candidate links as you need. Need more? Write to us.
Hiring questions
Could a candidate have seen the PRs before?
Yes. The PRs come from the public practice library, so treat the result as the start of an interview conversation, not a pass mark.
Can a candidate use an AI assistant?
Nothing stops them, as with any take-home. Asking them to walk you through one of their comments in the interview shows quickly whether the reasoning is theirs.
